We meticulously design all our keepsakes at our home studio with universal words and adorable illustrations and manufacture them using certified and responsibly sourced materials. We ensure that our suppliers and the paper materials used are certified by FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®). FSC is the World’s Most Trusted Sustainable Forest Management Solution. The FSC label on our journals ensures responsible use of the world’s forest resources. By choosing our baby journals, you support responsible management of the world’s forests. Deforestation is a major global issue, accelerating climate change and destroying the habitats of people and wildlife. Even though suppliers might claim to use sustainably sourced materials, it is difficult to verify them. Without certification, we believe calling a product 'eco-friendly', 'made from recycled material', ‘responsibly made’, ‘sustainably sourced’, etc. can be misleading for our customers trying to make informed decisions about how they care for our environment. We only use such terms to describe our raw materials and finished products that are certified as such by recognized third-party accreditation bodies. Our book is suitable for most modern families, including LGBTQ+ and adoptive. We have designed the book so you can customize it based on your situation. Instead of using titles like "Pregnancy journey" or "Your birth story", we used "Before you arrived", "Your arrival story", and so on. For example, we designed the "Before you arrived" page in a way that adoptive parents can use them to record their pre-adoption journey. You can also customize the book by taking advantage of the wire-o binding and removing irrelevant pages or just sticking photos or labels on any content you wish to cover.
Our book is suitable for most modern parents. There are no references to mommy or daddy anywhere in the book. We strongly believe that when a parent learns about their new baby's arrival, they are no longer alone in the journey ahead. There are a few places where we have used the words like "we" and "our" to refer to parents and the baby as it is a journey they take together. You could view these references as your baby and yourself. So, it comes down to individual perspectives. You can also customize the book by taking advantage of the wire-o binding and removing irrelevant pages or sticking photos or stickers on any content you wish to cover.
Yes. Our simple, modern, yet timeless keepsake with easy-to-use lay-flat binding and heartfelt prompts is thoughtfully crafted for busy new parents with "a no-nonsense approach", so busy new parents can actually finish it!

When selecting pens for journaling that will endure the test of time, it is essential to consider factors such as archival quality and resistance to fading and smudging. Below are some pen types we recommend for journaling and safeguarding your writings for years to come:
1. Archival Ink Pens: These pens are explicitly designed to be long-lasting and resistant to fading. They use acid-free, waterproof, and archival-quality ink. Some popular options in this category include Sakura Pigma Micron pens, Faber-Castell Pitt Artist pens, Sharpie Felt Tip Archival Ink pens, or Marvy Uchida Le Pens.
2. Gel Pens: Gel pens often offer smooth, vibrant, and long-lasting ink. To ensure their durability over time, seek out gel pens with archival or acid-free ink formulations. For example, Sakura Gelly Roll Gel Pens are renowned for their archival options.
3. Pigment Ink Pens: Pigment ink pens are fade-resistant and provide good coverage on various paper types. They are often waterproof and archival. Some popular choices in this category include Sakura Pigma Micron PN Pens and Staedtler Pigment Liner.
4. Fountain Pens: High-quality fountain pens can offer a classic and elegant writing experience. However, it is crucial to select fountain pen inks that are archival and have permanent or waterproof properties. Noodler's Bulletproof Black and Platinum Carbon Black are notable for their archival qualities.
It is advisable to avoid using standard ballpoint pens as their ink, depending on quality, may fade and even deteriorate the paper over time due to their lack of acid-free properties and oil-based composition.
Regardless of the pen you choose, we recommend conducting a small test on a section of your baby journal to ensure the ink does not bleed or feather, and adheres well to the paper. Additionally, allow the ink to dry thoroughly before closing the book, as some pens may have longer drying times.
We also suggest exercising caution with your writing pressure to prevent damage to the pen, the writing surface, or the underlying pages and preserve the book's condition for years to come.
Proper storage and environmental conditions also play a significant role in preserving your journal. Store your journal in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, and avoid exposing it to excessive humidity or extreme temperature fluctuations.

When attaching pictures to your journal, it is vital to use an adhesive that is safe for photographs and provides a secure bond without harming the photos or pages. Here are a few options we recommend:
1. Acid-Free Glue Sticks: Acid-free glue sticks are a popular choice for attaching photos due to their archival properties. They are non-toxic and won't harm your photographs over time. Apply the glue evenly, using just enough to prevent wrinkling. Scotch Permanent Glue Stick is a popular choice.
2. Double-Sided Tape or Adhesive Rollers: You can use acid-free double-sided tape, or adhesive rollers to affix pictures to the journal. Look for products specifically labeled as acid-free and safe for photographs. Apply the tape or roller along the edges or corners of the photo, ensuring a secure adhesion to the album page. Scotch Double-Sided Permanent Tape and Scotch Double-Sided Adhesive Roller are well-regarded options.
3. Self-Adhesive Photo Papers: Another option is to print photos on acid-free self-adhesive photo papers and affix them to your baby journal.
4. Photo Corners: These small, triangular pockets, typically made of acid-free paper or plastic, can be placed on the corners of the photos and then adhered to the album pages using small amounts of acid-free glue. You can also find acid-free self-adhesive options. Photo corners allow for easy removal or rearrangement of the photographs.
5. Acid-Free Glue: If you prefer liquid adhesive, opt for acid-free glue specifically formulated for scrapbooking or archival purposes. Use a small brush or applicator to apply a thin, even layer of glue to the back of the photo, then carefully press it onto the album page. Allow the glue to dry before storing the book.
Regardless of the adhesive you choose, it is always a good idea to test it on a small, inconspicuous area of the photo or album page before applying it to the entire image. It will help ensure that the adhesive does not damage or alter the appearance of your precious photographs.
Proper storage and environmental conditions also play a significant role in preserving your journal. Store your journal in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, and avoid exposing it to excessive humidity or extreme temperature fluctuations.

We have used shrink wrap to secure the box. Amazon requires that all packages are sealed using a plastic polybag, shrink wrap, or tape. As it is a keepsake gift box, we cannot use tape. Among polybags and shrink wrap, we found that shrink films are one of the most eco-friendly packaging materials. Their carbon footprint is significantly less than other alternatives such as polybags, cardboard, and paper because the weight and size are significantly less, which means they take significantly less space during shipping and storage. Also, as the shrink film is free from tape, gum, or any other impurities, shrink films are entirely recyclable. Additionally, it also discourages Amazon from sending customers a returned product.

We considered the below two facts when designing the first-year journal:
1. Most of the major baby milestones occur during their first year.
2. A 5-year memory book demands a lot more commitment from parents. Based on the input from young parents, many could not complete a journal beyond the first year as they got busy welcoming additional babies or their lives in general.
Hence, we aimed to cover all the significant first-year milestones in our journal, so you don't have to worry about missing any! Our first-year memory books are for parents who are confident that they can commit one year initially to capture their baby’s journey. We have also included 11 blank pages in our journal for parents who choose to treasure up to age 5.
For parents who are confident they can commit time for 5 years, we recommend our “The Journey of You” memory books which are also simple and easy to complete.
